
Sports Massage Enhances Athletic Performance
Sports Massage before an athletic event, makes the athlete more flexible, enhanced
speed and power, and less prone to injury.
Before a workout or athletic event, sports massage will warm-up your muscles, tendons
pumping action of blood circulating throughout the body to provide fresh oxygenated
blood.
After a workout or athletic event, sports massage allows toxins and metabolic wastes
that were produced during a workout to be flushed from muscles more quickly thereby
allowing quicker recovery.
Athletes looking to improve performance will benefit from massage. Sports Massage
aids in separating muscles that tend to work together (i.e quads, hamstrings, etc.) so
they work independently and therefore more efficiently. Massage helps in the recovery
process by flushing metabolic wastes and helping to breakdown scar tissue from prior
sports injuries.
Your massage therapist will deliver the sports massage appropriate for your needs
based upon the needs of your training schedule and event dates. Many strokes will be
used to prepare your body for your specific event such as: muscle tracing, muscle
stripping, myofascial release technique, cross-fiber friction, compression, petrissage,
trigger point therapy and more.
Sports Massage is available for 30, 60 and 90 minutes.
